I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

65 hours from the start, we have a fuselage skinned in aluminum and 1/32 basswood and the start of the horizontal stabilizer.

John, where do you get the little people from, I love that, its so cool.
poppy, Comment for image # 362920 Jul 07 12:21
Looking good, John. The basswood should have very little grain to fill. The metal covering still amazes me.

Only "tree" pieces to go. Enough for today...finish tomorrow.
John M Oshust, Image # 362919 Jul 07 16:47

Niki inspects the wood work with a polaroid filter to check the flaws. He sanded a bit just to see how the finishing process should proceed.

When this dries the boys can start the last quater of the fuse..the right rear.

Today's mission accomplished...two pieces, about two hours!

Slow progress, but progress none the less. Their goal is to finish by October first!

For us covering a plane with wood and Al is easier than tissue!

"Niki, are we getting what Americans call a "WOODY"? "No Sasha, not unless we are building an early 1950's automobile!
John M Oshust, Image # 357612 Jul 07 19:56

DD...I apologize for the fine "Crystal!" Niki and Sasha try to raise a toast to you. Question...Is the glass half full or half empty?

This is just a prototype to perfect a technique. Plastic sheeting of your choice, Al strips, bend to required shape, add additional trim. Easy and looks authentic!

Let me add my greetings as a tribute to 2XD=MMM. I hit 74 on the 19th!!!

Yes sir, there are lots of creative "spirits" in my thinking while I am constructing!
poppy, Comment for image # 356512 Jul 07 11:43
Ah, creative thinking, that's the spirit.

This will be a "twofer", the Mig gets a canopy and a plastic bottle is recycled. Does this count as a carbon tax credit?
John M Oshust, Image # 356412 Jul 07 09:14

Niki is back to work. The canopy beginning did not come from a can of peas, but from a Poland spring water bottle. This is just the prototype, it needs refinement.

Good help is hard to find!
John M Oshust, Comment for image # 356311 Jul 07 19:52
Boris does not live here anymore. He has moved to my cabin in PA with the Camel. Nicholai, AKA Niki, was unavaible for worked today. Reported in under the influence, docked a day's pay, and send home with no supper!

I only use CA for small parts. I do not trust it. I also glue myself to more things than I glue parts to the plane. Elmer's soaks into the wet wood and as the commercial used to say "is stronger than the wood itself!"
