Make a few careful cuts, break off the excess, sand and trim until you can't see the red..

Outline the part with a pen, score around edges lightly with knife,.....

Fill plastic with filler, make impression for wire. When dry addd a few drops of CA. Sand smooth.

Thin paint and gravity. The balsa centers add 1/8" to the width.

The plastic tail cone is glued on and smoothed into the fuselage before covering.

This is after the 1st application of filler. It will be lightly sanded and a 2nd one added as needed. Some seams require more filler than others.

This strip of 1/16" just inside the plastic piece provides a base for the filler to come.
