| A full lunar eclipse will start at 9:29 PST, 10:29 in Arizona, on December 20th and last for 72 minutes. It will be visible in all of North America and will be seen as a partial eclipse in other parts of the globe. |

| Cellphone/pager motors are amazingly powerful and for free-flight you don't even need a battery. They will run for minutes on one of the capacitors taken from a Harbor Freight foamy. One of the Black Sheep members flies a peanut scale, R/C PBY (indoors) powered by two of them, and there is one guy working on a conversion of a Dumas "Spruce Goose" to be powered by eight of them. I have a dozen of them in a bag waiting for a project or projects (Hummm...as long as people are doing flying boats, maybe a Dornier DO-X?) |

| See that little silver tube just behind the prop? That's a motor which appears to be quite similar to the type that cause mobile phones to vibrate in silent mode. It's got plenty of power. If you search on youtube, there are videos of them flying. It was a treat to myself after finishing a big project at work; they're pretty expensive. |

| Yes, Supercub is right. A 3.5gram r/c aircraft which you can fly in your living room (just about). Carbon fiber construction with a carbon fiber prop, covered with mylar. |

| I also built a series 400 piper cub, ( first scale model.) and it has + - one ounce in the nose, and I would suggest to get a 6" peck polymers prop, a strip of 3 1/16" tan sport or super sport rubber, and if you can, remove the nose, and put the clay in the VERY tip of the nose, while slipping the nose on and off while balancing, and I suggest the next model you build, to lighten as much as you can behind the C. G. ( see my hellcat I am building.) And also, don't be discouraged if it doesn't fly well, because the cub I built will only fly down a 15* hill, but your model looks like it is built very nice, and I hope it flys well- good flying! :) |

| I had to put some significant weight in the nose of my BF-109 to get it to balance where the plans said to (more than an ounce I think). But after flying at the park yesterday I don't wonder if the BF-109 would have flown had I tried a smaller amount of weight first then adding as needed. |

| We were lucky, had a clear night.....kinda interesting to see the angle differance from where this one was taken, compared to ours. The "end nib" on ours is to the right, at a 45* instead of straight down and towards. |

| Same thing for me, but where I live the clouds were moving, and i did see it some, but I also could not get a picture of it, I tried several times, but the camera didn't ever focus in on it. |

| Nice photo James. Unfortunately I was clouded out too :-( It's been clear here for several days and nights before this but, of course, the one night when I actually WANT it to be clear the clouds decide to roll in - typical! Howard, what kind of telescope do you have? |

| It was cloudy out on the left coast too. I had a good view of it starting as I drove home from work. I get home, get my telescope out, and a nice black cloud parks itself in front of the moon. Oh, well! You can't win them all. |

We had pretty cloudy skies, and this was about the only one that (half) came out for me. Unfortunately, I must have jogged the camera, it's a little blurred... |
