scigs30, Image # 18189 | 03 Jun 10 18:54 | Worked on the fuselage today, went together pretty quick and painless. The jig keeps everything nice and straight, wish I had this back when I was younger. Tomorrow I will finish the fuselage and begin on the wing. |

scigs30, Image # 18181 | 03 Jun 10 06:12 | Cannot find a Comet Spitfire album, so until there is one, I will post this here. After 2 Guillows kits, it is time to do a Comet kit. This is a great kit with good wood so I am using the wood in the kit. Besides I have a couple extra of these kits sitting around. I will pretty much build per the plans, but as we all know, Comet leaves a lot of room for interpretation. I did have to open up the formers a little to add room for the rubber. I built this kit back in the mid 80s for a competition and it flew great. Of course I did enlarge the stab and rudder and beefed up the nose and wing. |
CPN, Comment for image # 16967 | 15 Mar 10 17:10 | I think simple is a virtue. The essence of this hobby (if you're going to fly the planes - by no means a slight to some of the superb static scale work posted here) is how do you make the plane as simple and light as you can without losing what makes it an accurate representation of the subject. |
