Hey! Does anyone remember the solid balsa scale kits (from was it Keilcraft) back in the 1950's - I did a rather poor job on three (Hawker Hunter, North American Sabre and Supermarine Swift) as a 13-14 year old. I think that they were my intro' to Aero-model building.

I wish I still had all my plastic models. I gave them to my nephews when I went into the USAF. They didn't survive. James' Ercoupe is pretty cool. I built the Comet model of this when I was a kid! Fun to see a real one fly!

I may have, but it's like "area rule" was a few months ago. In other words, What is it?
rgood, Comment for image # 4147125 Oct 19 10:29
Don just go to You-tube and type in James Good - Ercoupe to Oshkosh. That should get you there - do you have a PPL?
Don C, Comment for image # 4147125 Oct 19 09:52
Thanks Bob. I had a few stashed in a box of plastic peanuts for years and dug them out a couple of years ago. What's the name of James's u-tube venture?

Wow Don that looks super. Cannot believe that it is 60! Bye the bye - any of your chaps watching James U-tube stuff? Some good footage there of his marathon Ercoupe trip east.

Don - I just sent you an email with an interesting attachment..the F11F Pilot's Handbook in PDF format.

Thanks, Bob. Sunlight sure shows the problems. At first the deals were great. It took 2-3 weeks for them to haze. They were dry and crackily, so I gave them a coat of Krylon clear. They were also sealed with a coat of Krylon. Kenm, thanks and it's actually a bluebird house, but every thing else uses it. Even a bat once which surprised me when I opened it for fall cleaning.

Looking good. Is that a bat box I see on that post?

I took a break from the balsa one to work on the plastic one.
