I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Great build Ed!

Just about finished! Couple of touch ups and then display.

Thanks Bob. Did some reshaping last night (spinners and canopy). I also like the DH. This was one of Guillows best. Fun build.

Super! More DH style on here....

Carved spinners for props and used modified B25 nose cone. Decided to make canopy out of 18 gauge stranded wire and clear plastic, Came out ok. Wire allows some flexibility for shaping so still working on it. If I'm not satisfied I can always go back and carve it.

Thanks. Taking a little break for other priorities. Will probably start carving next. (nose, props, canopy etc.) I have a leftover plastic nose from a Guillows B-25 kit that I might be able to modify and use.

That's coming together nicely.

Working on wheels and nacelles. Also starting to experiment with paint. I'll probably go with the camo mostly using those two colors.

Yep.

The tread too?

A folding utility razor knife. I like to use it for all my cutting and carving. I prefer it over the Exacto knife.

Nice job. What tool did you use?
edbecky, Image # 4296202 Feb 21 12:42

Working on front wheels for mosquito, Decided to carve tire treads on balsa wheels. Obviously too much time on my hands. 2nd shot tomorrow, maybe I'll get out more now. :-)

Nacelles and fuselage covered. Working on wheels. single, double or combination, any suggestions?

Thanks Ed. At one time I built scratch models on the side while building a kit but the opposite has now evolved. I can build my kit on the side without giving it much thought while scratch building, As long as I have kits I probably will continue to do this.

this is looking really fine! I love scratch building too since there are so many unique aircraft plans that have been published, but were never kitted. However, a kit is fun too because I don't have to sweat(or build) every single little detail.

It really is more fun to build from scratch. With the prices these days I might not build another kit. I say that with 6 or 7 on the shelf.
