Dave, don't forget the sanding sealer, bondo and hours sanding and sanding and sanding. Just another in a long line of museum quality builds from the Master!

what's the best way to attach the drop tank to the fuselage, david?

Pilots seemed to be most worried about the engine breaking loose in a crash, crushing the pilot. Although I never read anything like that happening. The engine was supposed to be supercharged, but that never happened so the P-39 never achieved its full potential. But Chuck Yeager, in his autobiography wrote about how much he enjoyed flying the plane. He thought it was really responsive and he liked the cannon nose.

My worry would have been the driveshaft I was straddling. Even if enclosed, what if the connecting joint broke like a u-joint does and the shaft flails around.

Thanks, Brian. You could build like this if you would follow the building techniques I use.

Check earlier in the thread. The stars are painted.

I have a question for you david, how did you come about your decals? I plan to make my plane in a Russian scheme, and the decals provided by the kit are old, your advice would be helpful.

Priceless. This technique in lieu of decals is going to come in handy. And the best thing about it......it's free. Gotta love this site. Thanks James.

Mike said the students are always asking about the type of planes they are and with the internet at their fingertips, they can easily do all the research they want and learn the history of each. Far better, indeed, than rotting away in a closet or collecting dust in the desert.

David, thanks for posting this. The Skystreak is now in a much better place, than being a box of balsa sticks and sheets rotting away in some collectors closet;0)
