Great work!!

Very nice job. I'm really looking forward to seeing how this turns out, so I hope you continue posting your progress.

Papering went very well with few wrinkles that disapeared with doping. However the rudder fit is requiring a lot of triming to fit. so far each component fits very poorly.

The major components are doped and sanded and ready for papering. I've had to do a good bit of trimming to get the wings to fit and they are not perfect but it would take some rebuilding for a better fit.

The repair work is finished, the fuselage wing former is switched around. Also the forward window of the rear cockpit has been cut into balsa slats that have been glued into place. I cut the window from the plans to use as a guide after the slats were in

meleduc, I think you are right, I've got it half fixed. Really appreciate you pointing it out, you have probably saved me a great deal more work later on. Thanks a loads!

Jerry, I have this kit as well and like you was a little underwhelmed. I really look forward to seeing how it turns out. I don't mean to be difficult, but it appears to me that you have the balsa "plates" where the wings mesh to the fuse placed back to front. No doubt you'd catch that at some point, but I just wanted to save you an "oh damn" moment. ;-) Looks fantastic otherwise.

The booklet, besides installing CO2, covers general construction and some detailing such as markings and cockpit, some of which seems to be drawings from a flight manuel. A step in the right direction, but does not make up for the engineering and instructions problems. This kit is certainly for the more experienced builder, which I barely am. This could be a great project for Poppy or DD.

Oh I see, there is a booklet included for CO2 and a KP01 motor but you are not powering the model. Regardless, I will still watch your progress with interest.

Thanks for the comments Jerry. I have this kit in my stash but have been reluctant to start it as yet. I will be watching your link closely and appreciate any advice you can give. BTW it looks great so far!!

I had the same problem with the Eindecker. You have to think alot about the engineering and study some pictures to improve the shape of the model

I must be sad, but i get excited about seeing a kit layed out like this!. The only thing is all my statics have been baddies so far. Eindecker(German), Albatros( German) I also have to build a Zero (japanese), Me109E( German) so ive decided to buy a brit next. One of the Sopwiths I think...

I'm not building to fly, not even rubber, so there will be no integration.
SteveM, Comment for image # 879428 Jun 08 15:52
I look forward to seeing how you integrate the power system, be it CO2 or the KP01.
jerry campbell, Comment for image # 879428 Jun 08 12:10
G300 CO2, or Kp01 electric motor. An instuction booklet is included.
jerry campbell, Image # 879728 Jun 08 12:08

The balsa is excellent, but I am disapointed in both the engineering and the insturctions as well as the plans. The build is a little complicated and both the plans and the instuctions are some what vague making the construction more difficult than it sho

I had copies made of the plans so I could cut them aprart for easier building on my board.
