Before I build each plane, I make sure that it'll go to a "good home." So, the neighbor across the street, has 4 or 5 of em on his ceilings. He has a house full of boys, so they have at least on each in their bedrooms, and he has a couple of bi-planes in his garage. The Texan here will go down the steet to my golf buddy's garage ceiling. No, he's not from here. He's from Chicago. I thought a Texan would be apropo. I told him he could call it a Harvard if he wanted to... The C-46 will go to the carpet contractor's here in our new subdivision. Our paint contractor has a whole house full of em too. Some guys want these planes for their offices. I just build em to see what they look like. By the time I'm painting em, I'm generally ready to see em go.

100% Cotton Muslin fabric. Basically, just like a high quality bed sheet. I buy it at Hancock Fabrics. The ladies there think I'm a sweetie! A yard of fabric is actually 45 by 108 inches. It's for lining curtains or making quilts. Sometimes I can buy it as cheap as 1.99 a yard. On this plaane I used Furniture Lacquer cut 50/50 with thinner. I had been using Butyrate Dope from SIG MFG but frieght costs have gone up so much that it isn't a very good deal anymore, and my LHS won't keep it in the quantities I need... The lacquer worked better than the dope anyway, so I'm really happy... Starting the drafting on the C-46 here... 120" wingspan!
