one of my favorite planes of WWII - like the P40, the Grumman Wildcat was there, and effective, from start to finish. Seeing one fly at the local airshows is always a blast. Hopefully we can see that again soon..

I use a lot of styrene tubing. I cuts, bends (with heat) and glues well. At this point, though, you might just try balsa over the wire and sand it to shape. You can also wrap/glue paper around it for added size.

Wildcat temp fitting. If you look close you'll see printing on the balsa from 5 or so different kits. All scrap wood, not perfect but lots of fun putting it together.
