Hi Bsadonkill. Very nice dowel and elastic setup you have there to keep the removable nose block on, when using rubber motors that are longer than the prop hook to rear motor peg length. I must try that. My noseblocks always seem to fall out at the end of rubber power turns.

I am in the U.S.A. on the southern tip of lake Michigan. It will be spring or summer before i try flying. I think it was originally kitted in the 1950's. This was a 1970's version that i bought from Old Model Kits .com . The plans and print wood patterns are available from outerzone.uk.com.

Very nice. I keep seeing these on Ebay. Have you flown it yet?

Nice model there - reminds me of the old Kiell-Craft Ajax! (Not sure of the spelling)

The stabilizer has a little bit of warp. I need to straighten it, or replace it with sheet balsa.

I bought this kit from old model kits, so this is an origanal kit. Plans and print patterns are avaliable at outerzone uk.com .

This is looking great! I love the old Comet kits. I built a few back in the late 60’s and early 70’s. My most recent is a Porterfield which is in my hangar on this site. It flies but average at best.

I thought maybe so. Built a few Comet kits back in the 50's. Mine didn't fly for beans, so it's interesting to see one that does fly.

Its a prop cut from the printed sheet, thats the kit prop. Its small at 6 inches. I don't know how well it will work untill i try it.

I see a different style balsa prop. Looks lighter. I haven't built a flier since I was a kid, so could you explain the difference in performance (if there is one)?
