The flight was to honour bomber command and the 55,000 RAF aircrew killed in the campaign against Germany.

That is a lot of poppies. Didn't the poppies originate following WW1?

That's great that they honored those who fought the Battle of Britain in this way. Very cool photo jgood.

A friend was telling me the other day about seeing planes dropping poppies when he was visiting Britain. He said it was a marvelous spectacle. It gave him goose bumps.

The Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster flying past my office yesterday, dropping a bomb-bay load of poppies into the park.

Ribs. The print wood outlines didn't seem very accurate (or it could have been my cutting!). Pinning the ribs together, shaping and notching seems to be OK though.

"there's nothing easy about an Easy Built"
jgood, Comment for image # 2648828 May 12 07:03
Thanks John! It's fairly straight and square. Not 100% perfect, but good enough I think. I (re-)learned quite a bit. Wish I had my magnetic building board though, that really made easy work of keeping things are right-angles. This is the first kit I've had to cut the parts out of printed wood; I was worried about doing that, but it's been quite easy so far. Interpreting the plans has been harder, they are not as comprehensive as what I've built previously.

James every great build starts with a great foundation. This frame looks straight, square, and true. You are off to a "Good" start. Nice photo presentation also.

Fuse fully framed up now.
