A better image

Crashed hard 3 times this week with damage, but fully repaired each time. However today was hot and humid and I tried to fly but results were not good. I had reduced lift. I looked it up: "Humidity has a major affect on the way planes fly. This is due to the weight of the air when it is humid. When air is humid, it is actually lighter then dry air, contrary to common belief. That is because the water (H2O) weighs less then the N2 or O2 that it replaces". Hopefully try again tomorrow. I also lightened the nose just a tiny bit, so we'll see. It was almost flying great earlier in the week, really close.

Test flights continue, it's been a challenge to get things right. I'll continue to experiment. I tried a powerful motor but that appeared to be too risky to manage and I went back to a medium strength. I've added more weight in the nose and may try an even weaker motor to avoid quickly climbing into a stall.

Ground crew did a good job.

Find some high grass, more forgiving.

Despite the tears and tall grass, the model looks great. Did you have to add any nose weight to compensate for the increased wingspan and dihedral?

Looks good. I've found that tall grass also reduces tears.

I have less than 20 hours invested in this project. I'm hoping to reduce the amount of tears if my flight testing ends badly.

I built this to fly (My first attempt at flying) so I added an inch to each wing and increased the dihedral to 1.25 inches. So far I've just done short test flights. It does fly.

Waiting to hear: " Third build after 30 year pause in modeling." That would mean a model of this good caliber every four months. Great job!!

That sounds familiar. Nice work.

Looks like you still got it. Lookin' good
