Sorry for the delay, I just noticed I missed this comment. I apply the tissue with a very fresh UHU glue stick, applied only to the tissue of the insignia. I very carefully rub and smooth it onto the plane's surface, with my fingers.

Thanks Poppy. I started test flying it yesterday - this is one difficult model to trim Thanks to the pop-off wing, that is tackd on with glue stick and the very flexible landing gear, it has come off undamaged after numerous hard landings. One problem is that it doesn't glide well, because of all of the drag. The other problem is that I am trying to get the Stuka to fly in an indoor basketball court. Unfortunately it is not stable enough to make this turning radius. It actually flies well on a large radius, but I figure I need about 2 more courts, to stop it from hitting the walls. When I adjust it for a tighter turn, it will usually spiral or stall. On one attempt it rolled over and landed inverted. I think I need to try it with a smaller prop, to lower the torque.

Very nice! I love the extra details and color scheme.

I used the ailerons and flaps to get a bit of camber and, on the port wing, to provide wash-in to counter the torque.

I used a Peck prop instead of the kit prop, because I may need every advantage to get a good flight.

I haven't installed the 250kg bomb. I'll do this after the test flights.

Ready for flight at 17.3 g, without rubber

Beautiful! I hope it flies well, 'cause it would be a shame to see this lovely in pieces.

Fantastic work John. Good luck with the flights.

Beautiful, classic, lightening job the second most difficult of the Guillow's 500 series to get to fly. The draggy little beast can be made to fly, even with the kit wood, but at an all up weight of about 20 grams, I can't wait to see how well this yours flies.

Weight so far is 15.7g (without rubber), with only a few more details to add. Also, it is slightly nose heavy with the prop pinned on. This should make it balance when the rubber is installed.

Almost all of the insignia are made from tissue paper. It seems to stick well and not show a seam.

The canopy framework is covered with thins strips of tissue. I roughened the canopy with an exacto blade so that the glue would hold it well.

The small balsa disk in the nose is a removable nose block. I replaced the plastic manifolds with ones made from balsa because they seemed too thick and too round, and, more importantly, didn't fit in the snake's mouth.

This looks great cant wait to see it on. If you could explain how you apply the tissue as I would like to do this on one of my projects

This looks great John, what paint did you use here?
John Cooper, Image # 755804 Apr 08 19:19

The snake insignia is tissue printed with an ink jet printer.

I am trying for a weathered look. I am applying several shades, in thin coats, generally trying to streak the colors in the direction of the airflow. I used colored pencils and chalk, also, to simulate dirt.

Painting in progress. This Stuka is going to be the Libya 1941 version with the snake emblem. I left out the green paint, where the snake will be, so that it doesn't show through.

The wing under surface color was printed with an inkjet printer.
