This is my 2nd DC-3 build. Building as C-47.

Great place for a it. I think this will be my next build, except that it will be turned into a BT-67, (a conversion by Basler of Oshkosh to a turbo prop).

This one went to Grandson's room in Texas.

DD called it on those decals. Nice work. Curves like that are really tough. Good looking plane

I did spend a lot of time looking at your DC3 build. Your photos cleared up a lot of questions I had. I might of stole(borrowed) a couple of your ideas.

Thank you Dave, I was worried about the gray at first but I agree with you that it came out nice. The decal application was a real pain. A couple of them split while applying. I would take your advice on the windows but my hand is just not that steady at my age. With the cockpit windows I had infinite chances to get it right correcting mistakes with gray paint and vice versa. My granddaughter is in art, maybe I'll ask her to do it. I did fix the leaning prop.

You've done a good job! I think the gray actually looks better than the shiny aluminum on the real one. And I like your decal application, as well. They are nearly as tricky as the P-40's shark mouth. I do suggest you paint the windows on the side black to match the cockpit windows.

I think she might be a little heavy to fly but I might give it a try. Fun project and I'm still learning.

Built this Beechcraft Bonanza from plans I found on Outerzone. I used the scraps from the DC3 kit. I had enough balsa but was short a little tissue that I ordered from Guillows along with the prop.

Lets call it finished.

Don, I have the basics, I just lack on the prep work that makes the finished job look real nice as opposed to looking good from a distance which is where I'm at now. Thanks for your compliments. I'm working on something else now for the practice before the Corsair. I'll post pics as soon as I figure out where to put it.

55 years off? Looks like you didn't forget much and you didn't pick the easiest build to return. It looks fine. Good to see you on the site. Looking forward to the Corsair.

Cool model, and a great return to the hobby. I had taken 30 years off myself.

This is my first build in over 55 years.

Almost complete. Looks better from a distance.

This is where the inexperience really shows up. I'll get better!

Need more practice here too.

A little rough, I'll do better on my Corsair.
