If they don't go away on their own accord and you aren't sure about the coverage, just daub some more masking fluid over the offending spot. As I mentioned before a thin film is all that's required, more is not better. |

I cut the tape at the corners using a rounded blade in my No. 11 Xacto knife. That way I can rool the blade through the tape instead of slicing it which insures that I don't dislodge the tape. Here I am applying the masking fluid making sure that the edges of the tape is covered. (You don't need to squeeze the applicator, gravity flow will get get the job done.) After the edges are covered, just put a little in the middle and make sure that all is covered. Caution: Don't use a brush that you will want to use again, I use one of those disposal "MicroBrushes" from H/L. |
rayl | Scratch Built Consolidated XF-92A | Reference | 27-Mar-15 14:38 | | Views : 427 | It is a good idea, as was pointed out earlier to dip the canopy in "Future" floor wax then let it drip off. Daub any excess off of the lower edges as it flows off. "Future" is not made anymore, but a good substitute if "Pledge - with Future Shine". I have the areas that I want to mask off outlined with the 1/16" crepe tape. You will need to put a little tension on it as you lay out your pattern. The next step is to burnish the tape down as it has just a little more juice than a sticky note. |
