I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

former tops attached and stringers being installed. One of the things I hope to gain by posting these pictures is advice/tips. If any of the more experienced modelers see something I"m doing wrong or can suggest ways to do this better/easier, please chime in! I've always found it's easier to learn from the mistakes and experience of others than reinventing the wheel over and over....

here's how I ended up assembling the fuselage. The formers are all square on top and I shimmed each one to match (as best I could) the curve lengthwise. It's still a liittle beyond my abilities right now, and although it came out straight the formers got skewed in plan view (from above). Drats.

just mocking it up as I get parts cut out. I "discovered" a method of gluing parts outlines on balsa that keeps the paper from sticking. I put clear packing tape on the back of the sheet of paper before cutting the parts out. Then use Elmer's white glue to attach the cutout outline to the balsa. The packing tape won't let the glue stick to the paper...but sticks enough to cut the part out underneath it.

1st half of fuse started. I decided to go the "split former" route for simplicity. If it doesn't work out, all I have to do is start cutting parts and do it all over again a different way!!
