David Duckett | Dave Diels Engineering, Inc Kit #29 Hawker Typhoon Mk 1B | Build | 25-Mar-15 06:39 | | Views : 473 | When the covering with silkspan was complete I brushed on two coats of clear nitrate dope and allowed it to dry overnight. The next day I sanded it with 320 wet/dry sandpaper and put on three more coats. The day after it was all sanded again and this is after 5 coats of dope. Running your fingers over the surface is the best way to insure it's all smooth, at least for me cause these old eyes don't see small things easily. The doping process leaves some rough edges on the wings and tail which you can definitely feel. This is after 5 coats of dope. |
