And even cooler !! This one will be in the camo colors of the Viet Nam era. These were a common sight at Pleiku AFB and I often saw them taking off and landing from our radar site. Thanks, Bill. |

It is my understanding that the fellas who flew these never had to spend their own money at the "O" club... |

That's probably true. |

This is the factory built kit. It still hasn't been released although it should be soon. |

I've called them, since they're here, a couple of times. First it was that they would be cut after the new boat kits were done. The date has been slipped from late summer to late September to late October. When I called at the first of the month, the man said they were in the process of applying the labels and that was the last step. The order status, at Tower Hobbies, now reads "on order" and I have asked another dealer, cheaper, to notify me when it becomes available. The Bearcat arrives tomorrow so I'll have something to do with my fingers until these puppies do hit the market. I'm taking a page from Poppy's book and have ordered a 1/48 scale plastic kit for reference as the cowl/fuselage connection looks a bit detailed and I want to make sure I get it right. I then had the same thoughts about the Bearcat so I got a plastic kit of it, as well, same scale. |

Sweet! The South Korean Air Force was still flying Skyraiders as late as 1998, when I was lucky enough to conduct a JAAT (Joint Air Attack Team) live fire exercise with a couple of them back in my Army flying days. That was one of those rare "fun" army days. |

And now it's "late Nov" before available ;-( |
