BriandKilby | 10-Jul-10 11:26 | is there a way to do panel lines without planking the model and without poking holes in the tissue? |
JohnG. | 10-Jul-10 12:52 | Very carefully--sorry, the Devil made me do it.... :-) |
SteveM | 10-Jul-10 12:59 | Straight edge and a fine point felt pen or very very thin black tape. Both are generally available from arts and crafts type suppliers. |
iseaalbert | 10-Jul-10 14:20 | If you look for a weathered look, this is what I do: I use a raw umber colored pencil (watercolor) to paint the edge of a piece of paper. Place it where I want the line, and use a cotton ball to smudge over the model. Always smudge towards the tail and you can achieve a decent weathered look. You can use any color that best matches your paint scheme. You won't see the panel lines, but rather the different panels, then you can go over with a black colored pencil, to create more definition, I use the same paper as a straight edge. don't use regular black pencil as it leaves a silverish look. If you are pleased, then coat it flat. I never use this method on a paper silk covered plane but you could try. |
