jgood | 07-Feb-08 16:22 | This looks so much like one of those little hoverflies! Very nice, Chris. Have you ever flown any rubber powered models? |
John M Oshust | 07-Feb-08 16:47 | CD...The more I observe this bird, the more I love it. Where did you obtain the plan? |
John Cooper | 07-Feb-08 17:08 | Beautiful and a great weight for a 16" span model. It is guaranteed to be a good flier. |
cdwheatley | 08-Feb-08 08:52 | I hope so John C! John O, I'm mot quite sure where I downloaded the plan from, but if you'd like a copy please let me know your e-mail address and I'll send it to you. James, this will be my first serious attempt at rubber powered flight, for which I think all the right boxes have been ticked: light weight - check, adjustable thrust button - check, decent prop - check. I hope to report back when I've been able to get her in the air, which will probably not be until the Spring though. Wish me luck! |
John Cooper | 08-Feb-08 10:04 | Good Luck! I've built 2 rubber powered DVIIIs and both required a fairly large amount of down thrust and right thrust, about 15 degress each. The DVIII is a naturally good flier, so, other than that, it should be easy to get it trimmed. |
David Duckett | 08-Feb-08 11:49 | Just thought I would let you know, Chris, a slightly bigger version will soon appear in the skies of Virtual Aerodrome. ;-) |
cdwheatley | 08-Feb-08 13:17 | I'll look forward to that then, David... |
