185 hrs into this build, Byrd's Tin Goose the "Floyd Bennett" starts to sport her colors!
Barnstormer26-Jan-08 20:35
Hey John, The colors look spectacular She will definitely stand out on the arctic tundra.
John M Oshust26-Jan-08 20:43
Wait until she gets the yellow wings. Antartic...no tundra down there S. Pole!
Barnstormer26-Jan-08 20:45
Ok, antarctic tundra, kinda like a build board covered in snow and ice.
Barnstormer26-Jan-08 20:56
Sorry, Websters defines Tundra as " A treeless plain of northern arctic regions. So I guess I meant "She will stand out at the south pole".

I just made an executive desion as to the next build. I ordered plans to scratch a P-63 and a very large B-24 (in honor of my uncle) These will keep me busy for a while when the Goose is cooked!

Hey when I taught once in a while I taught Earth Science. Tundra lichens and permafrost...S.Pole ICE!!!
SteveM26-Jan-08 23:28
I see the P-63 Kingcobra is a revision of the P-39 Airacobra, will yours be a Soviet Air Force version? Will the B-24 be bigger than the Guillow's kit?

Sweet! I know those wings won't droop on final install.
John M Oshust27-Jan-08 10:01
The P-63 Russkie it has a 69 in span. The B-24 also has a 69 inch span. poppy though they are only pinned the wings are not that far off. The upper surface tapers to the tip from the central hump.

Besides being trey chic , looks to be quite large. Great work O-man.
