I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Brush, damp rag. Thought about the compressor, but couldn't throttle it down enough. Can of compressed air for computer cleaning works OK.

Don, I used an air compressor on the open cock pits after paintbrushing the dust loose. Then closed the pit off with crumpled plastic bag. Sprayed with cleaner, 409, I believe, then washed with hose. To be honest, about 2 hrs per plane.

I just sneezed my way through cleaning the B-17 of 7 years accumulation. I understand perfectly. I'm a little nervous about the open cockpit ones, but what the heck. No one can see the top anyway.

These were covered in years of dust. They were suspended too high making periodic cleaning a chore. Even a greater chore now at my age and physical condition.

Awesome, John! Some of my models are starting to finally see daylight at my fiancee's apartment, no pets there to knock anything down!

All the models required some repair after their long flight time in the cabin.

Ready for the South Pole again!

The nice thing about the land locked salmon from the great lakes is that they provide a dinner, a mercury thermometer and barometer all in on nice concise package. One of these had a passenger...a lamprey!

Brian, funny you should mention that, as today, while lacing the wheel, my mind drifted back to the days of tying flies for salmon and trout fishing. No the old knees and the new titanium ones, are not conducive to walking upon rocks, in fast moving water

do you still fish john?

Filled out, on the grill, slow cooked to perfection. I do miss Lake Michigan. My buddy had a charter business and would bring these fillets to work. Help myself! The best thing in life is not owning the boat, but having a friend who owns the boat.

No, but I can see Mt Mckinley, that is one big mountain, Spectacular. I think it's pretty cool to live in a place where you can see North Americas highest peak from your back porch. Seeing Russia from my house is a Sara Palin gig, LOL.

Can you see Russia from your house???

Yup, I picked the wrong picture last night, sorry about that. Look, I am getting psyched up here, my model contest starts next Saturday for one week. Trying for back to back with Guillows B-17G and B-29 in the box. Can't even work on my Wright Flyer right now, nerves are on end. I spent 4 months on that airplane, hoping it pays off.

Beautiful, I must say!!! I started this hobby a couple of months ago and I am closing in on finishing my second model. I have enjoyed it thoroughly. I work as a calibration technician in a crash test lab and I spend my days taking apart, calibrating sensors and putting back together crash test dummies. I also fly rc planes and build plastic models. With all that I figured building bals kits would be a breeze...wrong. It is an absolute joy and a great way to escape for awhile, but it is not the easy thing I thought it would be. Not difficult in one sense, but very difficult to make visually perfect to us novices. I would like to know Mr. O's, Mr. Duckett's and Poppy's background to see how they developed their skills. Maybe it is just an artistic gift that some have. My goal is simply to make each model better than the last, but I seriously doubt I will look like Mr. O's after only 5 or six models :) I applaud everyones' skill here at VA and look forward to learning from the masters. Good luck and keep em flying.

Aha, even the master can make a blue. Thanks John, it gives me hope. :)
