EdClark | 20-Apr-08 19:13 | Poppy, what thickness do you use on wings and fus? |
poppy | 20-Apr-08 19:19 | Always a good grade, usually Midwest, of 1/32" on both. I get it in 5"X36" sheets at my local Hooby shop or at Hobby Lobby, and I pick it myself. Some sheets, especially SIG brand, are way too light. Some Midwest also, but they have the best choices. |
poppy | 20-Apr-08 19:26 | Ed, I have also used 1/16" on a model, but the wood required wetting for every bend, whereas 1/32" only requires on sharp or severe bends. Also when using 1/16", all formers and ribs have to be reduced by 1/16" b-4 adding stringers. No reduction necessary w 1/32". |
