Christian, Jr., great grandson of Gen. Thomas "Stonewall" Jackson,CSA. poppy 01-Jul-08 12:36 Col. Christian married a girl from my hometown, Miss Mary Lou Ashcroft. All his planes carried the name "LOU". His P-51D, "LOU IV", became the most photographed plane of WWII, most pics taken during one photo mission. He was CO of the 361st FG, The "Yellowjackets". Col. Christian was KIA on Aug.8, 1944 when he failed to pull out of a dive at the railyards in Arras, France. This model will be donated to the Hopkins County Museum of History in Sulphur Springs, TX.
