Creosotewind 19-Oct-07 11:28 I don't know if this is just an old urban legend, but I've read that one of the reasons these older planes could fly for only an hour to an hour and a half was that they were lubricated with castor oil and, in the case of the LeRhone, its spinning would create a fine mist of the oil which would be inhaled by the pilot.
