Skyediamonds1985 30-Mar-16 12:19 Elbert, funny that your model should be ready for decals. It seems that everyone else is talking about them too. From reading many plastic scale model magazines, that often advocate shooting a clear gloss coat prior to adding the decals. This is to help smooth out any tiny irregularities that are in the plastic. After the decals are applied, then recoat the model with flat clear to seal in the decals as well as giving the model an overall flat finish -that is, if the flat finish is what you're striving for. So, its as if the decal is suspended between two coats. I didn't mention this for the wooden models as that's a whole different avenue. Your model looks great. Are you using the kit-supplied decals> ElbertC 30-Mar-16 16:31 Sky, I am using the kit-supplied decals. There is two coats of kleer on this model. The OD paint went on a little rough but I think the decals will go on okay. I found I was using to low of air pressure. I use Micro Sol to set the decals. There won't be a coat of kleer on top of the decals. I haven't used it on other models and it seems to work fine. Please sign in to comment on this image.
