SteveM | 23-Oct-08 04:36 | Covering the fuselage was delayed a few days while I scalloped the formers and added some basic cockpit details. I'm afraid this is about all the detail I have the time and weight budget for. |
SteveM | 23-Oct-08 04:50 | The deadline for the G challenge is 8 days away. The plan is to maiden this weekend if the weather permits. If it flies poorly and crashes I will repair it, paint it, and add detail and enter it as a non-flying model. Should it fly reasonably well and survive my attempts to land I will finish paint and details, take baby photos, then fly again to get flight times for the contest. |
moostang51 | 23-Oct-08 17:01 | Best of luck on the flight attempts there Steve,I'm sure all will turn out for the best. Recently purchased a Real Flight G4 simulator and the difference between flying a high wing trainer vs. the low wing warbird or sport would have cost me a small fortune. QUITE a difference. I am definitely following this build closely and learning quite a lot after researching what electric flight entails. Thanks. |
SteveM | 24-Oct-08 02:19 | Thanks Moos. I looked up the system requirements for G4.5 and while I have three computers that meet the minimum specs, none is very close the being optimal. Since they should run G4.5 fairly well I should probably part with the $200 (or whatever it is) at get a real flight sim. I don't trust the free one I have been using as I find the ME-109 easier to fly than the high wing slow flyer which seems a little bass ackwards to me. |
