Thanks Don! EZ-Dope is my weapon of choice now. Lots and lots of layers, thinned to 1:2 (dope to water) and dried with a hair drier between layers. I like the thinned dope much better even though you have to apply more layers. The thicker concentration tends to "puddle" in the wrinkles and when it dries, leaves rings of thicker dope behind. Since this stuff doesn't dissolve like the nitrite dopes do with each new layer, you're stuck with the finish. Of course, your mileage may vary! |

That looks superb! EZ Dope or regular dope? |

Been very busy 3D modeling and printing parts. Also, lots of modifications to the fuse to accept the new cockpit covers and all the added interior detail. Starting to assemble and paint the plastic parts now. Again, Wingnut Wings (http://www.wingnutwings.com/ww/) has been an amazing resource! If you are building WW1 models, check out their site! Pictures of both the original aircraft and the models are amazing. I've not bought one of their models yet, but they must be amazing! |

Been quite on the Rumpler, but still working on it. Now have everything but the fuse covered and doped to high sheen. |

Ed, there's also a "stretchy" beading string. I think its also by Beadalon. The advantage is getting tension easily. We have a JoAnn's craft store here and they have all sorts of beading supplies which give you ideas.

I'm loving your Rumpler build, Ed. I haven't tried Easy Line. I've been using a product called Beadalon which is a flexible stranded bead stringing wire. By using the beads and tubes to simulate the turnbuckles I'm able to adjust the tension of the wires before a drop of super glue in the "turnbuckles" secures the connections. See photo of the rigging on my SE5a.

That will certainly compliment your excellent Rumpler. |

Don, I can get down to 50 microns, but it takes some doing. A lot depends on how the part is positioned as it prints. I'm learning more and more each time. I have a really inexpensive (relatively) printer, so there are limitations, but it definitely does what I need it to! |

looks so good that it probably functions like a real engine! |
