A painting by David Duckett titled"Raising Arizona" just returned Sat. from the frame shop. This was given to me during my visit with him. It looks great hanging in my den.

Thank you for posting Poppy. Did you get to visit any other WW1 or WW2 historical sites while there?
poppy, Comment for image # 2716107 Sep 12 08:44
The most moving place I have ever visited.

No, avoided the long lines there. This was actually the start of a Seine River cruise to the Normandy beaches.

C'est la vie! Did you go to the Louvre?

Had fun with friends in Paris last week.

It's interesting but I think I would get tired of it quickly.

That is a great photo. Thanks Poppy. Are you and DD trying to tell me something? LOL. Yippee is a good looking bird, but I'm kind'a set on a P.T.O. green over white P-38. Possible shark heads on the fuselages. >:-) Still looking @ Wings Palette.com for ideas. Although, with all these Yippee pics it is tempting. Thanks you guys.

I spent a week in Cape Hatteras, just south of Kill Devil Hill. Its a really pretty area, but be careful stepping off the trail The grass is full of stickers! And the insects will carry you away. But this area is an amazing place. The birth of flight. Whenever the fighter jets fly past from Norfolk they dip their wings in salute to the Wright Brothers.

It's even harder to imagine after you have experienced a full scale Wright Flier simulator.

It is well worth the trip. This was a 50th wedding anniversary gift from my wife. Trip to Kill Devil Hill, Wilmington, NC to see Battleship North Carolina, and Savannah, GA and the 8th Air Force Museum.
