The only downside is that the card stock might not be ridged enough for some applications.

Looks good. No wrinkles this way. I've done it with birch plywood and with 1/32 balsa. I'm interested in seeing how this turns out. It might be easier.

the cardstock was sprayed with primer on both sides to keep it from warping and it also kept the tape from pulling up the surface of the card stock.

this one ,, I tried adhesive spray....that worked better

the bottom I glued , first the leading edge and then glued the trailing edge and worked my way down with pressure front front to trailing edge

Picture doesn’t show the lack of tension in the tissue Some things just have to be tried , but don’t always work out.

Exam table is in doctors office where you sit mostly undressed on a table with a sheet of TISSUE to protect the TABLE !

Don't see any wrinkles in this view. Hopefully a couple coats of dope will do it. Looks like a good outcome. What is exam table paper?
mark eggebeen, Image # 4361322 Nov 21 22:30

would you believe....this is exam table paper. I glued it on dry . but am not too happy with how it shrunk up . Maybe it would work better if it was applied on wet

Major surgery !! I forgot to install the guides for the nacelle rails on one wing . Now I built the nacelle and am using it to align the guides with the rails

I just might go back to a coat of primer after I get it shrunk up the first time.

I can't handle wet tissue without tearing it up !! I'm not so excited about buying silkspan , just to try it out on one model.

Good! Sand carefully. :)

May I add a bit different method? You've done such a nice job so far it's a shame to see all this trouble. I use silkspan, it's tougher and can be pulled taut more easily ( I had a tendency to tear tissue while trying to get the wrinkles out), and dope. First I wet the silk span with a spray bottle, then apply dope to the outer edges only and lay the silkspan on, like Ed said making it as tight as possible (sometimes a little more dope is needed if the edges dry too quickly) pulling all the wrinkles out. Then let it dry. If it's good, coat it with dope and let it dry again. I do use nitrate airplane dope thinned 50/50.I see two things in common - pre wetting and drying with just the tissue before coating. I've not tried EZ-Dope, but the method sounds the same. Just another option. Hope this may help.

Sorry you are having so much trouble with the tissue. I use a technique that may help you. Instead of putting the tissue on dry, I dampen it by pressing it against a damp paper towel or wash cloth until it is uniformly damp, not wet, then I quickly apply it to the plane, making it as tight as possible. Once the dope sets and the tissue dries, I apply many coats of thinned dope (I like EZ-DOPE) drying each with a hair dryer. The tissue will wrinkle again when I apply the thinned coats, but eventually it will absorb enough dope to where it doesn't wrinkle. That's when I know I have enough coats. it's not fool proof and there have been times when I've had to start over on a section because I couldn't get it tight enough, but the majority of time this works for me. Hope this helps.
