Another aspect of the south is the necessity for "dressing up" to go to town, or anywhere else away from the house. Out here flip flops are accepted nearly everywhere but in the south it's shoes for Wal Mart. And lipstick and rouge, lots of it, for the ladies! My Grandparents rarely went to town but Grandpa liked to razz her with the saying, anyway. She pissed him off by calling him Zebulon instead of Zeb.
