Transparent covering? You could use Doculam - cheap, strong, and clear! See here. |

Seems a shame to cover it! It would be nice to build it with a transparent cover if it was feasible... |

Gentlemen, thanks for the comments. I think these and simpleflyer's e-mail helped me. I will build and document each small step. After all, these woods are still around, and there are craftsmen who can design and shape it. It would just be cost prohibitive. |

Or scan them. |

Are there profile drawings of each and every part? Maybe a trace or photocopies might be a good idea before assembly. |

Not sure I agree that it shouldn't be built. Poppy has already documented it in pictures, to show how they used to be made. What good does the wood do sitting in a box? |

Just what I thought. You don't get kits like these any more. This one should not be built but be kept to show to others what they used to be in the old times. |

Not really, it was intended to be built by people far less capable than you. I suppose if you really want to preserve the kit you could try cutting new wood. Good build choice, I'll be checking 2-3 times a day for updates. |

Engine cowling formers cut with spars. |

Even rudder spars pre cut and tapered right into fuselage formers. |

Ribs pre cut plywood, wing, stab., and rudders tips pre cut and sanded hardwood. Cowl fronts, large ribs, and elevators pre cut and sanded hardwood. I have to say I have never seen a kit of this quality. They just cannot afford to make them like this anymore. |

All leading and trailing edges, spars pre cut and tapered plywood and hardwood, #1 grade all. |
