| MY MISTAKE! The model A did have an oil pump! But still the engine had little to recommend it as an aircraft engine except availability. |

| This is very interesting. The manifolds on a model A are on the right side of the block, so this shows the engine sitting backward in the air craft.I suppose it would have been difficult to take power for a prop off the front of the engine. What does that do to the direction of prop rotation? I think the Model A didn't have an oil pump, engine bearings were "splash lub" I would be afraid to fly any thing but flat and level. |

Model A engine. I looked up some pictures of the Model A engines used on the Pietenpols and tried to emulate those. I used black thread for spark plug wires. Still have the intake and exhaust to add. |

bones almost done. I decided to use balsa sheet instead of the paper covers on the fuse. |

| Hi Bill,
e-mail sent...but just to be clear this kit I'm doing is a Peck Polymers kit and I put it under the Dumas Pietenpol Air Camper because there wasn't a choice for the Peck Polymers kit. I've asked James to create one so I don't cause any confusion.

I have lots of extra sockets so I thought I'd try them out as weights/squares while building the fuselage! |
