Bill before you cut up the sheet scan it into the computer and print on decal or adhesive paper.

So, just cut em out and stick em on by whatever means neccessary. Can do...

Yes, I know that they are NOT decals, but just color prints. That was they way that Comet made these kits. It was meant as an improvement over the black and white national insignia prints on the plans.

This is the "decal sheet" that comes with this Comet Zeke. It's kind of more like slick paper than decal paper. I scissored off a sample and got it wet to see if moisture activated any kind of adhesive backing, like a postage stamp for example, but no joy, I think? This kit has to be close to 40 years old, so time may be a factor. Anybuddy ever seen any like these?

Sounds like something from Mythbusters! Not the actual debunking of the theory, just the explosion...

sounds like you and my Dad hung out together... he never talks about how well they flew up, just about how well they blew up...

Comet kits were 1.00,.50, .25 and .10 in my youth. We would build and then hang them in the bedroom until the tissue became brittle and tear. Then it was time to go flying. Firecrackers glued on, set on fire for one last glorious flight. It was always a big crowd pleaser if the firecrackers blew before the model hit the dirt..

Actually the Comet kits are a better F-F rubber model designs than the Guillows kits. The Comet models were always a dollar or two cheaper. When i was a boy back in the seventies that made a difference.Comet suffered from poor wood selection, the wood was to hard sometimes and split to easily.Comet probably suffered more from a general lack of interest from later generations.

I remember as a kid, the model box said, "with molded canopy!" and I thought, "so?" Now I get it. The molded canopy was a miracle...

After I built my first Super-Star, Tube-O-Matic, the Zero it so happens, I made sure that whenever I built another one I cut relief slots in the formers so that after the fuselage was framed a few quick cuts with an X-acto blade and the tube came out. They have rather good airfoils so that without the tube, and with lightened tail feathers they fly rather well, and if nothing else, they are sturdy. If they had gone the Guillow's route with these and had plastic noses, detail parts, and molded canopies they might have stayed in business a while longer. As it was, this line of kits was not what the market wanted.
