After forming a few canopies over balsa forms, I wonder if you could push that dent out using a little heat and something smooth underneath?

Started my 400 series Mustang tonight. First build after about a 4 year break. To anyone that doesn’t know me, I build to the plans for rubber power. If it doesn’t fly, it always has a place in my home..

Unfortunately laser cutting does not, by itself, make a lighter model and Guillows is still using oak in some of the newer kits. The Beaver had mainly good wood but also several sheets which I had Guillows replace. This has been a problem with them for years and they just cannot get it right.

The current laser cut versions of the 400 series kits have much better, lighter wood than the die cut kits we had when we were kids. They will fly built out of the box. With a little judicious lightening and a removable, adjustable nose block they will even fly competitively.

They always broke when I flew them back in the 50's, so I quit trying to fly. :) Looking forward to this .

After a looonng break I am ready to start building again. Has anyone ever had any rubber powered success with this kit? BTW - thank you DD!
