Squad/Sig books, while widely used by aviation and military buffs, they were actully designed for use by modelers, describing, and showing photos and drawings of pertinent details that are especialy useful to the builder. |

The Squad/Sig book contains drawing of the differences between the Zero and the Rufe that must be addressed when converting the Diels kit to the Rufe. |

Have many Squadron books and agree that they are a great source for reference. You can usually find them pretty cheap on flEa-bay. |

To provide accuracy a good reference is essential, The Squadron/Signal A6M Zero is an excellent source for the Zero variants. |

The Guillows smaller 500 series Rufe is a big help. The Gullows Rufe plans provide excellent patterns for the float stucture and can be blown up to 1/24th scale. Care must be taken because the Guillows Rufe in not 100% accurate, especially the tail. |

I've been wanting to build an A6M2-N Rufe floatplane for some time. But since thre is no kit in 1/24 scale I decided to convert the Dave Diels A6M2 Zero to the A6M2-N float variant. |
