The toy shop finally took a delivery of these (I say finally, I've only been waiting 4 days but you know how it is...). Only question now is exactly what is used for what? |

Another option is the Pacer Canopy Glue. I used this on my Cherokee except I was a rookie with it then (you can see it on mine if you look close). This dries slower than CA but it is fairly easy to work with. |

Brilliant, thanks for the tip! |

Carefully CA (with as little CA as possible) a thin strip of tissue around the edges of the windscreen and then wipe off any white CA residue with a piece of paper towel. Leave about about an 1/8 inch overhang of tissue. Now you can glue the screen on, tissue to tissue with carpenters glue for a strong connection. |

I vote for separate too! Looking good. |

If you want to fly, my suggestion would be colored tissue and a very light coat of Krylon clear. |

I probably do want to paint it like this but I'm worried about weight as I do intend to fly it. Would a blue permanent marker work OK do you think? If not what would you suggest? |

I find that it is easier to tissue all the parts separately, then attaching all. |

Oh boy, she's begining to really take shape now! The wings aren't glued yet, wondering wether to tissue it beforehand or after... |

Just seeing how the windscreen fits. There's a spar to go down the middle once I've tissued the top of the nose. Damned if I know how I'm going to glue that screen on though... |

I accidentally cut the wire a bit too short for the wheels to go on with a twist the other side, but found a solution and in the end the result is even better! I'm leaving the spats off, as the ones I flew didn't have them. |

My first time at the controls for lessons was in a 1973 PA28-140, then later in a 1974 Warrior. |

I'm not sure, I'm quite tempted to but since it's my first model and I'm building it as a flier rather than a static model I may leave it unpainted, at least at first, or else paint it yellow for visibility on cloudy days. |

Are you going to use this paint scheme on your Piper Cherokee model ? |
PencilCricket, Image # 28303 | 07 Jan 13 22:13 |
This aeroplane is what inspired me to build this model. It's G-BPBM, a Piper PA28 Warrior, in which I had half a dozen flying lessons about ten years ago. |

Hmm, we'll wait and see how I get on with the tissue paper... |
