I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Thanks! It got a little tricky over the stiff paper area around the cockpit but I muddled through it with a little water and a prayer.

Very skillfully applied tissue covering on your Great Lakes Trainer.

Thanks, Boats! I still have a bit to go yet. I only get a little time here and there, so it will be a slow process. Did you already build yours?

I am between Scranton and Binghamton. We dodged the snow/sleet bullet but received about 3 inches of much needed rain.

Thanks! No snow yet John. I hit 2 pockets of sleet on the way home from work earlier, then a little more on the way home from my son's Cub Scout meeting. Almost 90 last week and now sleet!!!

I left this small section uncovered to have access to glue the spars in place. Sorry for the blurred photo.

This will be my first attempt on a balsa prop. This is out of the box from the kit.

thanks for the tip. I had good luck with the old double edged razor blades. The Exacto dragged and tore the tissue.
TJH, Comment for image # 2597518 Apr 12 11:39
BTW - I used a standard X-Acto and a metal straight edge to cut the tissue.

Thanks! I made a copy of the plans and then sketched the pattern there and blackened the areas. The next step is to lay the tissue over this and then pencil the pattern with a straight edge, then cut. I pasted it on with a glue stick (very tedious; I lost 2 pieces). Total time for these pieces was about 5 hours.

This patern is gorgeous. How did you cut out the trim pieces? I usually end up with a horrible mess using surgical scissors.
