You nailed it right on !! Excellent ! Those Dumas 200 series kits are alot of fun, with a good variety of builds. |

I'm happy with the colors as well. I would love to know the history of this aircraft as the markings are for prewar aircraft of VF-6 which flew off USS Enterprise CV-6. But they should be on a Buffalo or Wildcat as "-F-" is for "fighter" (if it was an observation plane it would have an "-O-".) The military used more J-3's than these J-4 coupes so it could just be someone's "tribute" paint job, .. or something else. but I like the look anyway. |

I must give credit to Dumas and the designer of this kit. It was a joy to assemble, the wood seemed light without being absurdly fragile. It seems to be designed to fly and I think it will. AUW with domestic tissue is 20g |

Thanks for the pics Bill. I like all of those myself. I can't find a color photo of this Navy version, and thus its appeal. Thanks for the input Tim, I'm trying to talk myself out of a base color of neutral grey or silver dope in favor of the much cheerier yellow. |

Hi peregrin,
I agree with your guess on the colors, maybe a medium blue on the tail. |

anyone hazard a guess on this aircraft's colors? I'm thinking cub yellow with red nose and fuselage band... maybe some sort of blue on the tail? I would welcome other ideas though... |
