I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Very smooth poppy!!! Construction is always clean in your builds :)

looks like it's coming together very nicely, poppy!

Have to build up gear housings. Kit only had one vacu formed housing. Both bubbles were included.

Wings silk spanned.

One tip shaped, 1 to go.

Dry bend. This is the same technique I use on all my wings simulating metal covers. Although now I only glue leading and trailing edges and end ribs.

AWWW RITE!!! Looking sharp, Sir.......

VERY NICE!! Did you wet the wood or was it a dry bend?
poppy, Comment for image # 3140113 Apr 14 06:14
Yes, I tried the other way also with nasty results. Just have to make sure all ribs and stringers are sanded smooth with no unwanted raised edges.

They look great. You did not mention any glue on the ribs or stringers so I'm assuming you did not put any glue there. When I tried sheeting I did and you could see it in a nasty way which is why I don't do it. I can certainly see the advantage of gluing the sheeting only on the edges>

Trim the edges of each panel as you go, and finally the wings are "skinned".
poppy, Image # 3140013 Apr 14 05:53

I start skin at leading edge of wing bottom. clamp or tape until dry, then glueing edge of end ribs and trailing edge, gently fold over to conform to ribs, hold in place till dry.

2 1/32" sheet glued together, seam sanded smooth, one coat clear dope on each side completes skin.

Extra stringers added. Plans call for only 4 at the top front.

This is the first time I have built a wing like this. Never too old for something new!
