In looking a research material I believe the rudder was a replacement rudder so I spotted in some gray and taped it off. |

In order to ease painting Rudel's D-9 I printed out a 4 view and colored in a map of the colors creating a map to airbrush by. |

I normally use Tamiya acrylic and mix the Luftwaffe colors according to a chart devised by Tamiya and modified to my own taste. |

With the model all dry after washing I airbrush the bottom surfaces with a Tamiya mix of RLM 76 Licht Blau. |

The canopy has been fitted and taped. The entire model has been washed again with dishwashing soap, rinsed and dried and blown dry with my airbrush. |

Particular attention has to be paid to the front wing joint - sand where needed. I use sanding sticks - course - medium - fine. |

The wing is installed to the fuselage and a bit of putty is added to the rear. |

A bit of sanding and the wing is ready for instalation. |

The top wing sections are fitted and glued with MicroWeld. Then a bit of putty is aplied to the seam. |
