I think all is working again now. Please leave a comment on a photo somewhere if something you need is not working still.

Looks like my typing is bad to day. The painting is done.

This one is 1/32. wingspan of 15 1/2".

What is the scale on our model. Looks big. Mine has a 20"wingspan, about 1/24 scale.

Ready for the next color. Neutral Gray

I read up on plunge molding and decided I would try it their way. The hellcat cockpit doesn't have any compound curves like a P-47 or even the Corsair. I get off easy. But I will watch as you move in that direction.

Do you have any suggestions?
lukebozek1, Comment for image # 3509008 Dec 15 06:44
Yes I was fooled. I'm doing the Comet Hellcat and did what you propose. It's a little work

Lukebozek, you may have ElbertC's image and mine mixed up. I have the Comet kit. I'm going to use the pattern from the kit and cut it out of packaging plastic - probably several times before I get it right.

These Comet kits are great, what are you doing for a canopy?

Looking good. Hard to tell they are different scales. Keep a step or two ahead of me. I need the pointers.
ElbertC, Image # 3509005 Dec 15 21:40

Its moving slow but the work is getting done. Now I will mask for the other colors.
ElbertC, Image # 3494212 Nov 15 18:00

Back from Vacation. Starting to mask, getting ready for the paint. This is the first time I have used this type of mask, we will see how it goes.

I think they changed color schemes on these more often than the plots changed socks. That tricolor is nice. I have narrowed it to two options: the original light blue/gray over gray, or the solid navy blue of the Naval Air Reserve Unit where I grew up.

Cut them individually from card stock and "paste" them in place.🍰

My mistake. I thought Don had posted this earlier.

DD, you're the one who suggested "copy and paste". I'm trying to figure out how to do it with those cowl flaps. They're nice.
