DeHavilland produced the "Dove" a twin engine version of the 4-engine Heron. The Chippy is a beautiful plane and has been the subject of many models both in military and civilian colors. |

Where is this machine based now Huey? Very nice - have you flown it? (Re my last statement: The "Duke" was piloting a DH Heron at White Waltham in UK - that is another nice looking bird!) |

Bob, this is a friends Chippy, it is one of the last released from the RAF. Helped recover it, has 13,000+ hrs on it. The markings were faithfully reproduced. |

I have a few Chipmunk trips through the ATC - had to "wave" to the Duke of Edinborough one day when he was flying out of White Waltham - I was with an RAF instructor in a Chippy! |

Rgood, is this in your log book. Released from RAF in 98. |

That's the perfectionist in some of us modelers. We (try) to make our models as near-perfect as possible. Still, your model looks great and I'm sure the 10,000 horsepower engines will help as well. |

The nose was sprayed with Model MAsters O.D, the covering isn't even close, nor is the grey. with 17 grame motors, this will act like it has 10,000 H/P. |

Getting the control linkages to work correctly was a lot of fun. |

Slowly getting there, don't know about this new type povering, it keeps "moving" doesn't seem to take a set. I'll have to paint it with the correct O.D. color. the plastic covering isn't even close. |

When you say "560", what is the trade name and where can I find it. |
BriandKilby, Comment for image # 36430 | 29 Jul 16 09:17 |
when using 560, does it take it a while to adhere? I don't know if I had that problem or not, it's been awhile since I used it. |

I use 560 also. |

I use formula 560 canopy glue. Great stuff that dries clear and works on any material. |

I've tried searching through a dozen publications, both domestic and foreign. Found several that came close, but the forward canards on this one threw me off. |

Glue wise, white Elmer's. It doesn't attack the plastic and dries clear. Just use sparingly along the edges by using a small piece of plastic as a spatula to help spread the glue to a thin film. Another way, is to lightly brush coat the plastic in Pledge Floor Polish (I know, it sounds strange). It levels itself such that there are no brush marks & dries to a hardened clear finish, gives the plastic a more clear and crisp look, and will protect the plastic from fogging up if you use super glue. |

Okay, what's the best way to attach canopies? (Glue wise) |

The covering looks good to me from all your posts. Looks great. The A-20 is really shaping up! |
