Thanks Poppy. I thought there were spacers between the ailerons and wings on the plan. I see now they are spacers. Still learning here.

Actually the stitching material was part of the vacu-formed kit parts. I had to sand almost razor thin to get it to look right. Engine cylinders were painted black, then a thin wash of silver added to fins. They look almost completely silver in the picture. I will try for a better pic later. |

Very nice. This brings my mind back to yesteryear and my first stick and tissue aero-plane. |

Me too - Like what you have done with the stitching. On the engine I used very thin black tape in those grooves with the pistons - impossible to paint :) Can't quite see what you have done - maybe you have have already done that... |

Nicely done! I like how realistic the stitching and cockpit coaming details are. |

Not sure what you mean about the spacer blocks. I separate the ailerons from the wings before covering. The edges do have to be sanded smooth and front edges rounded at the top and bottom. The spacer blocks you refer to may be the hinges shown on the plan. I will use .020 plastic spacers to attach the ailerons to the wings(non-functional). |

It's nice to see this plane again - looking really good. |

That looks really nice. I have a question about the control surfaces on this kit. Looking at the plans underneath the wings out appears that it is part of plan. There are spacer blocks between the wing and ailerons. Do those remain in place so they appear functional? If not do you still cover the entire wing as one piece and then separate? Thanks
