Thank you for your comment ,Mr Willson. I think you will enjoy building this model. The Guillows kit of this model is excellent.

Was it Kitty Hawk? I thought it was somewhere else. Great looking model. One of these days I`ll tackle mine.

Happy Wright brother's day to all, 109 years ago on the sands of Kitty Hawk on this date.

Glad a question came up about building the Wright Flyer, as I had never checked out a "Build Thread" on the #1202 kit. An interesting challenge.

Roger, that is correct. I rounded the leading edges before attaching the ribs. It seemed simpler, and it worked OK for me. al

Hi, I'm just starting this build, and I've been studying both yours and David Duckett's build threads - you've both done outstanding jobs. Unfortunately, the instructions don't say when to shape the leading edge. The only mention of sanding is after all the ribs in place. From your comment above, it sounds as if you shaped it before you glued all the ribs on(?). I'd appreciate it if you could confirm. Thanks, Roger.

Finished. It amazes me that this model was trapped in that box of Guillows sticks and tissue. Even more amazing is the effort and genius that the Wright brothers expended in producing the original aircraft.

Thanks, Cresotewind, your Piper Cub looks great. And thanks to those that did not point out my goof on the rear wing bracing, that will be corrected on the finished model.

Beautiful model.

Attaching the remaining thread bracing. The metal clips are used to keep a bit of tension on the threads while the glue dries. We used Elmers wood glue througout the build of the Wright.
