gentlemen I appreciate your comments here, but I appear to have missed the mark with my attempt at humor. I only meant to express my admiration for pfinn's handiwork with a bit of healthy humility for my own. Who could live properly without quality furniture? after all, one must have a proper stool to perch upon to play one's violin...

Truly correct. This definitely is not furniture! This is super.

I don't think I would call this furniture! Pfinn's Father has one.

I appreciate the positive reviews, friends - thank you. Guillow has done remarkably well on this kit to capture the shape of the Aeronca - and the laser cut parts make layup and assembly so simple that all effort can be focused entirely on the other aspects of the build. And whoever decided to create a float kit is a genius.

a sound approach if I ever heard one - what good is accumulated knowledge if it is hoarded and never shared?

I was a Technical Instructor for a couple of years during my 20 year tour in the Air Force. They told us to teach the students correctly because we might someday be working for them. :-)

Edtherenderman, I had Alaska and the PNW in mind for this project from the outset. I just love bush planes and the idea of flying in remote wildernesses where only a lake, river or inlet is required for operation. Thank you for your kind remarks!

David, thank you for your generous appraisal of my Aeronca project. My efforts are only a reflection of what I have learned from you and the other talented modelers here. Thank you for sharing your work and providing inspiration / motivation to us all.

Very well done! Love the rigging and the anti-slip on the top of the floats. It's the small details that make the difference! This reminds me of the Cessna 206 on floats I flew in last week in Alaska on a fishing trip! Nice!

That is as pretty a model airplane as I have ever seen. You add a new definition to clean. What a superb creation!!

Very nice.

I'm still working out the rudder rigging and some other minor details toward completion - but as soon as I have that done I'll take and post some outdoor shots

Looks very realistic. Need an outside pic.
