The straws are the receptacles for the struts. Struts are made of the normal material but a little longer. Regarding the flattening, originally these were concave as seen in this photo, I later changed to a flat bottom airfoil.

| Hi Mr. Wilson,
This is actually green over cream colored tissue from Easy Built. I drew the design on the plans and then laid the tissue over the plans. The tissue was applied with a glue stick.
