LASTWOODSMAN | Herr Engineering HRR 105, Fokker D-7 | Parked | 11-May-17 14:22 | | Views : 384 | A few hours later ... This is really nerve wracking ! - I have been mostly counting the blade scallop sanding strokes with a 1/4" round steel file, with more time stopping and examining and comparing the oposite blades and brushing away sawdust, than actual sanding. Working very slowly, but surely. |

LASTWOODSMAN | Herr Engineering HRR 105, Fokker D-7 | Parked | 09-May-17 08:02 | | Views : 381 | 5 more hours work - all sanding blocks were renewed with fresh sandpaper stapled on, the face outlines have been sanded to 320 grit, and the layout lines on the sides of the prop have been added. Now to carve (sand in) the actual contours of the shapes and see how the painted grain lines will look. |

LASTWOODSMAN | Herr Engineering HRR 105, Fokker D-7 | Parked | 05-May-17 21:35 | | Views : 485 | Gentlemen, the post WW2 stigmatization of the "Swastika" is a compelling subject. It and other "Runes" have been around for millenia since the Neolithic Age. It is a Sanskrit good luck symbol used in many cultures. There is a small town in Northern Ontario near Kirkland Lake called Swastika, founded in 1908 and named for the Swastika Gold Mine which started in 1907 (which started the big gold rush in the area by the way), and this town has not had to change its name. Lots about the Swastika in this Russian documentary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwUpPwyyvLw |
