5 more hours work - all sanding blocks were renewed with fresh sandpaper stapled on, the face outlines have been sanded to 320 grit, and the layout lines on the sides of the prop have been added. Now to carve (sand in) the actual contours of the shapes and see how the painted grain lines will look.

Gentlemen, the post WW2 stigmatization of the "Swastika" is a compelling subject. It and other "Runes" have been around for millenia since the Neolithic Age. It is a Sanskrit good luck symbol used in many cultures. There is a small town in Northern Ontario near Kirkland Lake called Swastika, founded in 1908 and named for the Swastika Gold Mine which started in 1907 (which started the big gold rush in the area by the way), and this town has not had to change its name. Lots about the Swastika in this Russian documentary. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwUpPwyyvLw

Prop front is on correctly this shot - it seems to balance on a round head pin ... counting the sanding strokes must have paid off ...

Bob - this is my most precious family heirloom - an Italian-made Western Style Piano Accordion with 120 base buttons, a "Vivona" Tone Master, built in 1967, that I took lessons on from 10 - 15 yrs old. I got it back when I was 50, ten yrs ago, and took it up with a vengeance ...
